About Death By Audio

The business began as a web-based effects customisation service. It then spent nine years in a Williamsburg, Brooklyn building that doubled as a venue, recording studio and living space. After the venue closed in 2014, the pedal workshop moved to Queens, where the pedals are still made by hand.

Many designs use unusual parts such as obsolete transistors and military-surplus electronics, and some replace conventional knobs with sliders, dip switches or toggles. The range includes the Supersonic Fuzz Gun, which switches between gated fuzz and self-oscillation. Every pedal carries a lifetime guarantee.
