About Strymon
Its story starts in 2004, when analogue engineer Gregg Stock and industrial designer Lucian Tu set up Damage Control Engineering. DSP specialist Pete Celi and firmware engineer Dave Fruehling, who had worked with Stock at Alesis and Line 6, joined within months. Under the Damage Control name the team released pedals that paired high-voltage vacuum tubes with DSP, including the Glass Nexus and the original TimeLine delay.
In 2009 the founders made a fresh start and began selling their new designs under the Strymon name, beginning with the all-analogue OB.1 compressor. Pedals that followed, such as TimeLine, BigSky, Mobius, El Capistan, Flint and Volante, have become fixtures on many pedalboards, and the company also makes pedalboard power supplies.
The three engineering co-founders still lead product development: Stock is CEO and heads analogue design, Celi leads DSP and tunes the sound of every product, and Fruehling is responsible for firmware, software architecture and MIDI.
