Strymon Riverside is a mono drive pedal that puts an analog JFET input in front of digital gain stages.

The input is a class-A JFET stage. It adds up to 20 dB of analog gain before the DSP. Drive retunes several parameters as it turns, so the voicing follows the gain. A Gain switch picks a lower-gain path or a higher-gain path. Push adds a mid boost just after the analog stage, which drives the later stages harder.
Bass, Middle, and Treble sit after the drive and shape the sound before it hits the amp. A three-position Presence switch on the rear sets the top end for darker or brighter amplifiers. The Favourite footswitch stores one preset. An expression jack can sweep assigned knobs or act as a volume pedal, and it also takes MIDI. A second jack accepts an external switch for up to 6 dB of analog boost. The same jack can toggle the Favourite preset on another Strymon pedal.
Bypass is a relay true bypass, or a selectable analog buffered bypass. Noise reduction is optional, lives in the secondary controls, and stays off until you enable it.
