The main channel uses Gain, Volume, Treble and Bass controls, with an active two-band EQ. A second footswitch engages the boost, and a small knob sets its amount. Both switches sit side by side, so the boost works as a lead lift.

Four DIP switches on the side change the voicing without opening the enclosure. One adds about 6 dB of compression. Another swaps between the Classic voice of the original AC Booster and a Modern voice with more gain and articulation. Two more add a 6 dB mid boost at 500 Hz or 2 kHz.

Rolling back the guitar volume cleans the drive up noticeably. Running it from a higher supply voltage gives more headroom and top end.
