The standard BD-2 has been part of the BOSS compact range since 1995. A discrete circuit replaces integrated chips with individual transistors and components. Gain, Tone and Level keep the BD-2 layout, and a small S/C switch sits between the knobs.
Standard mode follows the classic BD-2 voice. Custom mode adds body and sustain, which gives a thicker sound as the gain rises. Both modes react to picking strength and to the guitar volume control, so the drive cleans up without touching the pedal.
A Waza Craft badge on the pedal plate identifies this version. The single-mode BD-2 Blues Driver is the standard model of the same design.
