Channel 3, the top row with a red LED, is a variation on another boost voicing Thordendal favours. Channel 33, the bottom row with a green LED, is the original 33 circuit with added controls. Each channel has Volume plus active Bass and Treble, and the CH 3/33 footswitch selects between them.
A built-in Zuul noise gate has its own mini knob. The gate is keyed from the input signal, so its tracking does not change when the channel controls move. A side jack connects to an amplifier's channel footswitch input; one switch chooses whether the ON or CH 3/33 footswitch changes the amp channel, and a polarity switch (N.C./N.O.) corrects a reversed channel selection.
Bypass uses a DPDT relay, and the pedal powers up in the on or off state it was left in. Digital modelers have level-sensitive inputs, so high Volume settings can overload them.

Fortin 3.33 is a dual-channel boost and overdrive pedal that expands the single-knob Fortin 33, Fredrik Thordendal's signature boost, into two independently voiced channels with their own EQ. Fortin Amplification released it in 2026, and the Meshuggah guitarist was involved in every stage of the design.
