Strymon · United States
Each channel has its own Level, Drive and Tone knobs. A Config switch runs the channels in series, in reverse series or in parallel. A Bright switch cuts, keeps neutral or lifts the top end for both channels.
The front end is an analogue JFET stage with up to 20 dB of gain, followed by DSP modelling of each circuit. This aims for the feel of the analogue originals with more voicings in one enclosure. A noise reduction mode cuts hiss at high gain.
An external switch can recall a favourite setting, and an expression pedal can sweep the controls or act as volume. MIDI arrives through the EXP jack and stores up to 300 presets. Bypass is true relay or analogue buffered. The Riverside is the single-channel Strymon drive.
Overdrive · Released 1 January 2017
Strymon Sunset is a dual overdrive pedal that puts six drive circuits on two channels. Channel A offers germanium, Texas-style and treble boost voicings, while Channel B covers 2-Stage, Hard and JFET boost.
