inMusic launched HeadRush as a new guitar brand in January 2017, taking the name from an earlier Akai looper pedal. Its first product, the HeadRush Pedalboard, combined amp, cabinet, microphone and effects models with a 7-inch touchscreen, a quad-core processor, gapless preset switching and a 20-minute looper. It ran on Eleven HD Expanded, a rebuilt version of the Eleven amp-modelling software originally developed for Avid’s Eleven Rack, and was created by members of that original team.
The current range includes the Prime and Core processors with Antares Auto-Tune for vocals, the more compact Flex Prime, the VX5 vocal effects pedal, the ReValver software with amp cloning, and FRFR cabinets and portable speakers. Firmware 5.0 added native Neural Amp Modeler (NAM) support and TONE3000 access through HeadRush Cloud, which makes the brand relevant to players who want one floorboard that can host community-made amp captures alongside built-in models.
