Terry Burton founded the company. He had previously founded Strymon and worked as a hardware designer at Line 6. Jinna Kim is creative director, and she has designed brand identities for Strymon. Angelo Mazzocco is DSP engineer and vice president. He wrote DSP at Line 6, including early compact pedals built around a fast processor.

The pedals pair an analogue dry path with algorithmic programs, secondary knob functions, and MIDI or expression on a shared jack. Mercury7 is one example: Ultraplate and Cathedra programs, with the dry signal kept analogue.
