Meris Ottobit X is a stereo bitcrusher and glitch pedal that builds a modular signal chain around filters, pitch shifting, modulation and tape-style ambience. The design follows the Ottobit Jr. and Ottobit Sr.
Six glitch types include grain freeze, stutter, a stepped stutter and tape stop with variable speed. Two one-button loopers cover push looping and vinyl-style scratching. The chain also offers three filter types, five pitch modes, five modulation types and four preamp types.
VHS Delay and VHS Reverb both have a play-speed control that pitches and stretches their trails, with sample-rate aliasing at low settings. A 16-step sequencer can be assigned to many of the parameters.
The footswitches select presets, move between banks, open the tuner and trigger a hold modifier. A colour display shows the edit pages, and presets can be exchanged over MIDI. Inputs and outputs are stereo, with switchable headroom for instrument or line level.
