Butterfly Effects Dobbo is a granular effect pedal that can hand part of its control to chance. Dobbo cuts incoming sound into small grains and rearranges them, stretching, pitching and blurring them or turning them into rhythmic textures.

Six knobs shape the grains. Rate sets how often grains trigger, up to 20 per second, or a note division of the tap or MIDI tempo. Size runs from 10 ms to one second, Time delays grains by up to five seconds, and Pitch covers four octaves. Mix blends the dry and processed signal, while Space adds random panning and then reverb.
Three toggles set grain direction (forward, reverse or random), pitch mode (smooth, octaves or semitones) and the shape of each grain's envelope. The Chance knob and dice button add randomisation to Rate, Size, Time and Pitch, each with its own amount.
Holding the tap footswitch freezes the last five seconds of input, so Dobbo works on that sample only. Eight preset slots store knob, toggle and chance settings. A MIDI and expression jack gives external control, and stereo use runs through a TRS input and left and right outputs. Dobbo is designed and assembled in Belgium.
