The sound engine is an analogue-modelling synthesiser with four oscillators offering sawtooth, square and triangle waveforms. Resonant 12 and 24 dB filters, ADSR envelopes and several LFOs shape the tone, and four assignable controllers form a modulation matrix.

Four reorderable effects cover EQ, overdrive, chorus and a MIDI-synchronisable delay. A three-voice harmonizer is also included. Since firmware 4.5 a second, FM engine adds 99 DX7-compatible programs alongside the 99 analogue-modelling sounds.

Instrument modes for bass, guitar, split signals, synth and EWI suit different players. MIDI in and out ports and a CV and gate output can drive analogue synthesisers. A built-in tuner is also included.
