The Loop footswitch handles recording, playback, overdubs, undo and clearing. A small selector sets what the FX footswitch does: reverse playback, half-speed playback or a dedicated stop. Loops run up to five minutes with unlimited overdubs.
Holding the Loop footswitch for 1.5 seconds during playback removes the last take and keeps earlier layers. A store switch saves the current loop as a backing track, whose level is then set separately with the Loop Level knob.
Over USB, loops and backing tracks move between the pedal and a computer, and firmware updates install the same way. True bypass with analogue dry-through keeps the dry guitar signal out of the digital path.
TC Electronic Ditto X2 Looper is a stereo looper that adds a second footswitch for stop, reverse and half-speed playback. TC Electronic released it in 2014.
