Up to about 12 minutes of stereo recording time supports short phrases through longer practice jams. Level sets playback volume; the LOOP ring shows recording, playback, overdub, and position so you can track the cycle without looking at a screen menu.

Mono or stereo instruments and amps connect via dual 1/4-inch jacks. An optional FS-series footswitch on the STOP/UNDO jack adds dedicated stop and undo if a double-tap or hold on the main switch is awkward live. The last loop stays in memory after power-down.

The RC-1 sits at the simple end of the BOSS Loop Station line—no drum patterns or multi-track phrase banks—aimed at players who want reliable looping in a standard compact footprint.
