RC-505mkII Loop Station

The unit is played with the hands rather than the feet, which suits beatboxers, vocalists and multi-instrumentalists. Input FX process the incoming sound before recording, while Track FX act on loops already playing. Each section runs four effects at once, with four quick-access banks.

Faders have a longer throw than on the first model, giving finer level moves. A Mark Back function sets a point to return to, which extends undo and redo while performing. Built-in rhythm patterns and drum kits give a timing reference for loops.

Two XLR inputs with phantom power take condenser microphones directly. Two external control jacks accept footswitches or an expression pedal for hands-free control. USB handles backup and phrase import and export through BOSS Tone Studio.
