Chase Bliss Generation Loss MKII is a tape-emulation pedal that models the wobble, saturation and failures of worn VHS and cassette machines. A Classic dip switch restores the behaviour of the original Generation Loss.

The Model knob steps through EQ profiles built from frequency analysis of real hardware. The library includes VCRs, dictaphones, cassette players and toys. Saturate drives the signal before the tape model.
Separate Wow and Flutter knobs set slow and fast pitch movement. Together they give familiar tape warble, while either alone gives random vibrato or a chorus-like shake. Failure adds snags, dropouts and crinkles, and dip switches can turn individual faults off.
The MKII is the first Chase Bliss pedal in this format with stereo inputs and outputs. A Spread option uses Failure to unsettle the stereo image. MIDI, CV and expression control are supported, with two presets.
