The expression pedal drives Whammy, Harmony, or Detune ranges selected on the left knob. Drop Tune shifts the guitar up or down by up to seven semitones or a full octave, with optional dry blend on the octave settings, without retuning the instrument.
Separate Whammy and Drop Tune footswitches let either section run alone or together. A Momentary switch briefly engages Drop Tune for hammer-on and pull-off style shifts. MIDI input supports external control of settings.
MIDI input supports preset and parameter control from external gear. Current DigiTech materials list the Whammy DT alongside the separate fifth-generation Whammy; both remain in the current catalogue.
