Sustain and Level set compression amount and make-up gain. Blend mixes dry peaks with the compressed path so pick attack stays audible while notes gain sustain. Tone is an emphasis circuit adapted from analogue delay recovery stages to restore highs lost under heavy compression.

A Single Coil / Humbucker toggle selects between two attack/release timings. Humbuckers carry more average energy, so the faster release keeps successive notes from staying clamped. The circuit works as a limiter on peaks and as an expander that adds gain as notes fade.

True bypass removes the circuit when off. Many players leave it on as a light always-on glue or as an amp push before dirt.
