Multi-Effects
Effects use the same HX Modeling as the larger units, which measures the behaviour of individual analogue components. That approach covers circuits that are hard to recreate digitally, such as germanium fuzz and bucket-brigade delay. Only one effect runs at a time, and 128 presets store complete settings.
An OLED screen shows three parameters at once, each tied to the knob below it, and further pages sit behind arrow buttons. The second footswitch sets tap tempo or triggers Flux. Flux moves several parameters to new values over a set time with one press, for momentary pitch dives, delay swells or speed ramps.
Input impedance can be changed to suit passive pickups, active basses or line-level sources. Bypass can be true or buffered with DSP trails. A free librarian app backs up presets over USB-C, which also carries MIDI. An expression pedal or two extra footswitches can share one jack.
Line 6 HX One is a single-effect stereo pedal that loads any one of more than 250 effects from the HX and Helix processors. It replaces one dedicated pedal on a board rather than a whole multi-effects rig, and it has no amp modelling.
