The Twilight Pulse Audioworks Fluoreszent is an optical sustainer/compressor pedal. The maker designed it to act more like a note- and chord-sustaining unit than a heavily saturating compressor, aiming to keep playing dynamics intact on clean tones and to thicken lead sounds when it feeds an overdriven amp or drive pedal.

Attack is fixed fast and release fixed slow, so there are no time controls to set. The four knobs are Sustain, Master, Blend and Lumin. Blend mixes dry signal in parallel with the sustained signal but never goes fully dry: about 15–20% of the effect stays in at the minimum, which the maker says lets the pedal work as a tone enhancer with Sustain turned up. Lumin is an active presence control that cuts or boosts the high frequencies, with the neutral point in the middle.
Twilight Pulse Audioworks says it also suits bass and acoustic guitars fitted with pickups.
