Beetronics Tuna Trem is a tremolo pedal that offers nine amplitude modes, called Species, inside a hand-drilled tuna can enclosure. The audio path is analog and built around a VCA. Digital control generates the waveforms and rhythmic patterns without converting the signal to digital.

Species selects the mode and Speed sets the rate. Depth is a hidden second function: hold the footswitch and turn Speed, and each Species stores its own depth setting. The modes run from sine and square waves through an intermittent lo-fi setting, short repeating bursts, a strong-weak pulse, a syncopated off-beat pattern and a longer evolving pattern.
Two Species depend on the footswitch. Sweller Bee keeps the signal muted until the switch is held, with Speed setting the ramp up and depth the ramp down. Morse Bee leaves the pedal always on and cuts the signal while the switch is held, acting as a kill switch. The bypass footswitch can work as latching or momentary.
Placed before drive pedals, the volume movement changes how overdrive and fuzz respond. Placed after them, the tremolo chops an already distorted signal. Beetronics released the Tuna Trem in 2026.
