An 11-position Mode selector picks the playback head combinations, with or without spring reverb. Repeat Rate, Intensity, Echo and Reverb set time, feedback and levels. Wow & Flutter adds tape-style pitch movement, and Tone shapes the repeats.
The delay time reaches twice that of the original unit, and tap tempo is built in. Holding the footswitch brings in a Twist effect for pitch and feedback swells. A Carryover switch lets repeats trail off after switching off. The dry signal can pass through a model of the RE-201 preamp or stay clean.
Stereo inputs and outputs suit wide rigs, and a CTL/EXP jack adds remote control of tap tempo or Twist. For a larger version with more controls, BOSS also makes the RE-202.
