Reverb · Released 1 January 2017
BOSS RV-500 Reverb is a programmable reverb pedal that offers 21 algorithms across twelve modes, plus a separate digital delay in every patch. BOSS released it in 2017 as part of its 500 series.
The modes cover room, hall, plate and spring, along with shimmer, non-linear, early reflection and effects types. SRV and Space Echo modes recreate the Roland SRV-2000 rack reverb and RE-201 tape echo. Dual mode runs two reverbs, either full range or split by frequency.
A/B Simul mode plays two patches at once, in series or parallel, with mixed or split outputs. The per-patch delay can sit before or alongside the reverb. Panel knobs give direct access to pre-delay, EQ and effect level.
Three footswitches handle patches, banks and tap tempo by default, and can be reassigned. Carryover keeps reverb tails when switching. Bypass is selectable between buffered and relay true bypass.
