The sound comes from a custom band-pass filter swept by a potentiometer under the treadle. The circuit has no inductor, a choice aimed at avoiding the feedback and stage noise a wah can pick up at high-gain settings. Rocking from heel to toe moves the filter from dark to bright, and leaving the treadle at one point holds a fixed, cocked-wah voice.
Switching between the effect and true bypass works by pressing the treadle fully toe-down until the footswitch clicks. There is no status LED, so the pedal gives no visual sign of being engaged, bypassed or powered.
