JAM Pedals Tiny Amp Destroyer is a boost, overdrive and distortion pedal with three footswitches, built with Stu Mackenzie of King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard. It combines two independent gain stages with a separate treble booster.
G2 is the more restrained stage, covering lower-gain breakup and driven tones. G1 runs hotter, moving into heavier overdrive and distortion. Either stage works alone, and both can be stacked for the most saturated sounds. The treble booster sits ahead of both stages, so it can push either one harder, drive the whole stack or run alone as a booster. An internal DIP switch chooses between a fuller and a more focused booster response.
The two stages share an output level and active bass and treble controls that boost or cut. MAGIC moves the response towards the compressed, boxy character of a tiny amp driven past its limits. Notch starts neutral and removes a frequency band progressively as it is turned up, which scoops the sound. These shaping controls affect the two gain stages only, not the booster.
A G1 Global Bypass mode, selected at power-up, lets the G1 footswitch switch the whole pedal while G2 and the booster stay engaged, so one press brings in the complete sound.
