Filter is a low-pass on the input of the octave circuit, so octave-up remains usable higher on the neck without rolling off the guitar's tone control. Drive raises the JFET preamp gain ahead of the effect; Fuzz engages the fuzz stage; Blend mixes the octave-up over the driven signal; Volume sets overall level.
The octave-up and fuzz sections come from the circuit Howard Davis and David Koltai first used in the 2005 Disnortion; the micro Octava adds the JFET Drive stage at the front. Mono input and output, true bypass. A buffer ahead of the pedal is not required.
