The G3 is an analogue amp-in-a-box design based on the Purple channel of the REVV Generator 120 amplifier. That channel is voiced for tight, high-gain tones with a pronounced midrange. Bass, Middle and Treble shape the result after the Gain stage.

A three-way Aggression switch changes voicing and saturation. Off gives the least gain, Blue sits in the middle and Red gives the most. The pedal works in front of an amp or in an effects loop as a preamp.

Jacks sit on the top edge, which saves space on a crowded board. The black enclosure with purple knobs identifies this edition. The earlier G3 used a purple enclosure and the first circuit revision.
