The five-position rotary switch changes both clipping and midrange. Modes I and II are tight with a slight mid cut, using LED or silicon hard clipping. Mode III combines silicon and LED clipping for more sustain. Modes IV and V scoop the mids deeper for rhythm playing.
Blend runs clean and distorted signals in parallel. At maximum the output is fully distorted. Lower settings add clean signal back for note clarity, which also helps bass players keep low end. Drive pedals placed in front feed both the clean and distorted paths.
Bass and Treble cut or boost after the distortion and interact with gain. Higher gain brings more low end, so the Bass control often needs trimming. Bypass is true bypass. A black version is sold alongside the red original.
