Delay time runs from 12.5 to 800 ms across three ranges chosen with the Mode knob. A fourth Mode position, Short Loop, records a phrase of up to 800 ms and repeats it. On the original DD-3 this was called Hold.
Holding the pedal switch for two seconds swaps it between bypass and tap duty. An external footswitch on the Tempo jack keeps tap separate from on and off. During tap use, the Mode knob selects quarter-note, dotted-eighth or quarter-note triplet subdivisions.
The direct output now sits beside the main output on one side of the pedal. Using it turns the main output into a delay-only feed for a second amp. A dummy plug in the direct jack mutes the dry signal for parallel effects loops.
