Turbo I has a fuller low end and midrange, covering gritty drive through to thick distortion. Turbo II adds a resonant midrange boost for lead lines that cut through a band. The discrete analogue circuit keeps noise low at high gain.
The Tone control is active, so it shapes both treble and bass rather than only cutting highs. An optional footswitch on the Remote jack changes Turbo mode hands-free, which suits rhythm-to-lead switching.
At lower gain settings the pedal follows picking strength, so harder playing brings in more drive. Bypass is buffered, as on other BOSS compact pedals.
