The original HM-2 was made from 1983 to 1991 and was one of the first amp-in-a-box pedals. Its circuit recreated early-1980s British stack amps. With every control turned up, it became the defining sound of Swedish death metal, while milder settings appear on mainstream and shoegaze records.
Standard mode reproduces the original circuit, with a lower noise floor and 3 dB more maximum output. Custom mode adds gain and keeps more of the guitar's fundamental for a sharper attack. Its low and high-mid response is also fuller and more defined.
Two Color Mix controls shape the low and high EQ bands alongside Dist and Level. The mode switch sits on the top edge, so the original four-knob layout stays intact. A premium buffer keeps the signal clean and clear when the pedal is bypassed.
