The modes cover chorus, flanger, phaser, vibe, vibrato, tremolo, rotary, ring modulation and filter effects. Recreations include the CE-1, a 1980s tri-chorus, a script phaser and the Roland SDD-320 Dimension D. Slicer adds programmable patterns beyond the SL-20, and Overtone builds on the MO-2.
A/B Simul mode runs two patches in series or parallel, with mixed or split outputs. An insert loop places drive pedals before, after or between the modulation effects. The loop position is stored per patch.
Panel knobs give direct access to rate, depth and effect level, plus two parameters that change with the effect type. The A, B and TAP/CTL switches can be reassigned, and the CTL/EXP jack adds footswitches or an expression pedal. MIDI and a USB editor handle deeper editing.
