BOSS PH-3 Phase Shifter

The Stage selector offers 4-, 8-, 10- and 12-stage phasing alongside Rise, Fall and Step. Rise and Fall create sweeps that seem to move endlessly upward or downward. Step breaks the sweep into rhythmic, stepped changes.

Rate, Depth and Resonance set the speed, intensity and emphasis of the effect. Tapping the pedal switch sets a tempo, so the sweep can follow a song. An optional expression pedal adds real-time control of rate and filter.

Rise and Fall were new for this model, adding one-direction movement to the standard up-and-down cycles. Together with the stage options and tap tempo, they give one compact pedal a wide range of vintage and modern phase sounds.
