Chromatic, Guitar, and Bass modes cover standard and flat tunings, including extended-range string counts. Cent and Stream display styles, Accu-Pitch Sign completion cues, and High Brightness mode support dark stages and outdoor glare. Accuracy is rated to ±1 cent across C0–C8 with a reference pitch of A4 = 436–445 Hz.
Engaging the footswitch mutes the OUTPUT jack for silent tuning while BYPASS remains a separate parallel path. A DC OUT jack can distribute power to other pedals when the TU-3 runs from a PSA-series adaptor and a PCS-20A cable.
The TU-3 followed the TU-2 in 2009 and remains BOSS’s stage-tuner reference in the compact format.
