Cold One

The Punkifier ran a distortion side and a fuzz side through a blend control. The Cold One keeps that layout, with renamed controls and revised ranges. Graham Coxon of Blur used the original, including on the solo of “Coffee & TV”.

Glitch mixes the standard fuzz with a glitchy, arpeggiating fuzz on the fuzz side. Fuzz Blend then sets the balance between the fuzz side and the distortion side. Gain acts on the distortion side only, so it has no effect with Fuzz Blend fully up.

With Gain set low, the distortion side becomes a clean channel. Fuzz Blend then works as a clean blend, which makes the pedal usable on bass. The active Tone control emphasises highs or lows without cutting signal. Input and output buffers let the pedal sit anywhere in the chain.
