Stones mode gives a nearly flat response with a slight emphasis on the lower mids. Stoner mode adds a cathode-style capacitor and removes a feedback loop, which brings much more gain and output.
Treble and Bass are shelving controls built on a passive tone circuit in the style of Ampeg amplifiers. At noon they sit close to flat, and they cut below that point and boost above it.
The signal path has three JFET gain stages, with no op-amps or clipping diodes. Gain follows the first stage and the tone controls precede the last one, so boosting them also drives that final stage harder.
