Components were tested and matched against the King of Tone. The circuit aims to add grit while letting the guitar and amp character come through.
Volume, Drive and Tone sit on top, with a three-way switch between them. Boost mode adds level without clipping. OD mode uses soft clipping, and Distortion mode uses hard clipping for more compression and output.
Running the pedal at 18 V adds headroom, most noticeably in Boost mode. It stacks well with other gain pedals. The pedal cannot run on a battery, and bypass is true bypass.
