Thirteen EVH guitar Sweeteners are based on the tuning of the 1978 debut Van Halen album: E flat standard with slight sharp offsets. Eleven companion Sweeteners cover bass, and more than 158 Sweetened and Guided Tunings are available in total.
The HD LCD shows a 417-segment strobe pattern behind a variable-colour LED backlight with a red glow. Calibration runs from 390 to 490 Hz. Transposition from −6 to +5 semitones covers drop tunings and capo use.
A dual-relay true bypass switches without a pop, and a buffered output is available instead. The output can also be muted for silent tuning. Settings and firmware updates are handled in the Peterson Connect software over Micro USB, and the housing is stainless steel.
