MXR M108S Ten Band EQ is a graphic equaliser pedal with ten sliders, separate input gain and output volume, and two outputs. It replaced the earlier M108 with quieter circuitry, true bypass and a lighter aluminium housing.
Each band cuts or boosts by up to 12 dB. The centres run in octaves from 31.25 Hz to 8 kHz, and the top band is a shelf at 16 kHz. That range covers bass guitar as well as guitar, so one pedal can serve either rig.
The Gain slider sets the level going into the EQ, while Volume sets the level coming out. Used together, they let the pedal act as a clean boost with tone shaping. Blue lights in the sliders show when the effect is on.
The second output carries the same signal, which allows two separate signal chains or two amps. The pedal runs on 18 V, and the matching adaptor ships with it. The smaller M109S Six Band EQ is a separate model.
