The gain structure reacts to pick attack and to the guitar's volume control. One setting can cover sustained fuzz and the ripping, velcro-like texture of early fuzz records, depending on how hard the strings are hit and where the guitar volume sits. Pushed hard, the pedal moves towards a gated fuzz that cuts notes off as they decay.
The control layout is short: one knob for the amount of fuzz, one for output level and a tone knob that shapes the brightness. Few settings interact, so dialling in a sound is quick.
True bypass connects the input straight to the output when the pedal is off, so the dry signal is not altered by the circuit. The enclosure is metal.
