Gain is fixed, so playing dynamics and the guitar volume set how hard the fuzz bites. The octave control blends an analogue octave-up from silent to full mix, while Balance sweeps between the darker Shadow voicing and the brighter Sun voicing. That Shadow-to-Sun shift is clearest when the octave is turned up.
True bypass keeps the path simple on a Nano chassis with one Input and Amp jack. Rhythm fuzz can sit with little or no octave; lead lines can push the octave high for a sharper upper voice.
The pedal is mono and fully analogue, with the Status LED marking when the effect is engaged.

Electro-Harmonix Nano Lizard Queen is a nano-chassis octave fuzz that puts a transistor-based fixed-gain circuit — designed with Josh Scott of JHS Pedals and 1970s EHX-inspired graphics by Daniel Danger — into EHX's smallest enclosure. Released in 2023 and discontinued in 2025, it is an official EHX build of a circuit first shown on the JHS Show in 2022.
