Electro-Harmonix Soul Food is an analog overdrive pedal built as an affordable alternative to the Klon Centaur circuit.

Released in 2013, it uses boosted internal rails for extra headroom and definition while staying in a compact mono chassis. An internal switch selects true bypass or buffered bypass (factory default is true bypass).
At low Drive it works as a clean-ish boost that pushes an amp into breakup; higher Drive adds mid-focused grit. Players often keep it for stacking and amp-pushing rather than as a close Centaur clone, and the Treble control is the main way to open or darken the circuit.
Compared with many other Klones, repeated owner notes describe a thinner, more mid-forward or boxy voice with less bass. Treat it as its own circuit flavour, not a drop-in Centaur substitute, and check the internal bypass switch if your board needs a buffer.
