MXR Micro Amp is a single-knob boost pedal that adds a preset amount of clean gain, from +0.5 dB up to +26 dB.

The Gain knob is the only control, and noon is the suggested starting point. Turning it clockwise adds boost. Frequency response stays within 1.4 dB from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, so the boost raises level with little change to the frequency balance.
Typical uses include a lead boost and matching levels between guitars with different outputs, such as humbuckers and single coils. Placed in a long effects chain, the pedal can also make up for signal drop-off as a permanent boost.
Bypass is hardwired, and a red LED shows when the boost is on. MXR sells the Micro Amp+ (M233) as a separate model.
