JHS Wanderer splits Morning Glory and NOTAKLÖN onto their own jacks

The Wanderer puts JHS's two favourite drives in one vertical box, and gives each circuit its own input and output so you can patch between them.

Most dual drives lock their two circuits together. The Wanderer doesn't. JHS Pedals has put a Morning Glory V4 and a NOTAKLÖN in one vertical enclosure, then given each side its own input and output jack, so a compressor, a fuzz or a switcher loop can sit between them.

JHS founder Josh writes that a Morning Glory and something Klon-esque have sat on every board he has owned for years. He designed the Morning Glory as his take on the Bluesbreaker, and JHS calls it the best-selling pedal it has made. Players asked for independent jacks on a two-in-one “about a thousand times”, the company says. The Wanderer is also the first pedal in its new vertical format, with jacks and power on top.

Four gain stages come from two footswitches. On the Morning Glory side, the Gain toggle brings in a whole extra gain stage rather than swapping diodes, and the LED turns red. The NOTAKLÖN's +/- toggle is the Shamrock mod: 4 dB more gain, more midrange and an extra hard-clipping stage, with the down position kept to the original voicing. Each toggle has its own Red Remote jack, and JHS says any latching amp-style footswitch or a switcher's amp-control output can flip them too.

Run it through the main jacks and it behaves like a regular stacked drive, with a centre Order toggle pointing at whichever circuit comes first. Use the four individual jacks and that toggle drops out of the circuit. With its Gain fully down, the NOTAKLÖN side doubles as a clean boost of up to +16 dB.

The pedal uses silent soft-touch switching with buffered bypass, measures 4.7 x 3.5 x 1.5 inches and runs on 9 V DC centre-negative at 165 mA. A Bright Cut switch on the Morning Glory side trims the top end. Full controls are on our Wanderer product page.
