Tone City LOONG runs two clipping paths at ±15 V
LOONG opens Tone City's Ultimate Series with a red high-gain channel and a blue crunch channel, each with its own EQ, on ±15 V rails.

Asymmetrical clipping on red, symmetrical on blue. LOONG, the first pedal in Tone City's Ultimate Series, runs those two paths on internal ±15 V from the maker's own DC/DC stage. Tone City sets that against a plain 9 V rail, or the ±9 V of most charge-pump boosts, and calls it more headroom and dynamics.

Red is the modern high-gain side, with its own gain, presence, and active three-band EQ. A toggle, Tight on the face, moves from a thick, clean aggressive mode up top to a tight, fuller aggressive mode down, which is how Tone City describes it. Blue uses symmetrical clipping, with less low gain and a stronger midrange than red. Lead is framed for styles from blues to rock. Rhythm mode reduces the distortion toward crunch and, with the EQ, even a clean tone. Each channel has its own volume, EQ, presence, and gain.
Tone City puts about ten years on the brand and about eighteen years of pedal work on designer J.Wong, and says you may still hear some Model M and Golden Plexi here. The maker calls LOONG a step up in function, fullness, and dynamics from those earlier circuits. W-Distribution's autumn range note also lists a send and return loop. Bypass is true bypass. Current draw is 140 mA from a 9 V DC adapter. Input impedance is listed as 1M, output as 10K, normal input at -10 dB, and maximum output at +12 dB on red and +13 dB on blue. The box is 14.5 × 12.5 × 5.7 cm (length × width × height) and weighs 580 g.
The control layout is on the Tone City LOONG product page.
