ThorpyFX ER-2 Block 3 adds a Phase switch to its Uni-Vibe
Customer requests led ThorpyFX to add an in/out-of-phase toggle to the ER-2 Block 3, a Uni-Vibe-style pedal with an Offset knob for the LFO ramp.
Customers asked ThorpyFX whether the ER-2's vibe could be flipped out of phase, and the answer is a new toggle: the ER-2 Block 3 adds a Phase switch to ThorpyFX's Uni-Vibe-style pedal. In the maker's video the team says it tried the idea, liked it and kept it. The listing says the switch lets you play the vibe in phase or out of phase, giving different depths to the vibe and chorus sounds.
The pedal is an evolution of the ER-2 Block 2, a Uni-Vibe-style circuit ThorpyFX says it designed from the ground up. The aim, according to the maker, is decade-spanning classic Uni-Vibe modulation in a smaller box that stays simple to use. Beyond the usual vibe controls there is an Offset knob, which subtly changes the way the internal LFO ramps up so you can tailor the pulse to taste.
Four knobs cover Intensity, Offset, Speed and Volume, and a toggle flips the vibe between in phase and out of phase. Two footswitches handle ON/OFF and VIB/CHO, the second one giving a fully wet signal when engaged. The look changes too: in the video ThorpyFX talks about new art, with night and day Earth graphics on the white side panels, and a change of knob colour.
The build is a laser-cut anodised aluminium enclosure on a blue and black sparkle powder-coated base, with recessed knobs, a sloped front and top-mounted jacks.
