Walrus Audio announces Canvas Expression controller
Walrus Audio has expanded the Canvas line with Canvas Expression, a dual-output expression, switch, and CV controller with MIDI, now in stock.
Walrus Audio has expanded the Canvas line with Canvas Expression, a controller pedal with two independently configurable 1/4-inch outputs plus MIDI. The pedal is shown in stock on the Walrus Audio store.
Each analogue jack can run as expression, switch, or control voltage. Expression modes cover TRS, RTS, and TS with automatic wiring detection, selectable tapers, and sweep direction. Switch mode supports momentary or latching operation, with heel, middle, or toe activation points listed on the product page. CV ranges include 0–3.3 V and 0–5 V. MIDI can send up to 16 assignable Control Change and Program Change messages over USB-C and 1/8-inch TRS MIDI, including high-resolution 14-bit USB MIDI, configured in the Canvas Expression web editor.
A contactless magnetic position sensor replaces strings, gears, and potentiometers, Walrus says. Listed size is 225 × 91 × 48 mm and weight is 2.2 lb, with adjustable treadle drag. Power is listed as isolated 9 VDC centre-negative at 300 mA minimum. The web editor also covers MIDI assignments, switch behaviour, TS resistance values, global settings, and firmware updates. The pedal carries a limited lifetime warranty.
