Walrus Audio Lore and Fable MKII stack two effects per mode in stereo

One reverses sound, one splits it into grains: each Walrus MKII pedal chains two effects per mode, with shared presets, MIDI and stereo jacks.

Five modes, two effects chained in each, and a feedback loop that sends the repeats back through both. That is the shared idea behind Walrus Audio's Lore MKII and Fable MKII, a pair of stereo soundscape pedals that now sit side by side in the maker's line-up. One reverses sound. The other chops it into grains.

The Lore MKII deals in reverse delay, reverse reverb and pitch shifting. Its modes run from reverse delay into reverse reverb, through octave-up and octave-down reverb tanks, to a dual-reverb mode aimed at pads and a pair of pitch delays that step through fourths, fifths and octaves. Walrus says those pitch delays act like a sequencer at long delay times and a harmonizer at short ones.

The Fable MKII takes the granular route. It reads short grains from a delay buffer and replays them backward, at double or half speed, or from several taps at once. One mode pairs an analogue-style delay with octave-down grains, another stacks two multi-tap granular engines into what Walrus calls a grain-verb, and the last picks a random speed and direction for every grain.

Both pedals share one control layout. A Tweak button turns a single knob into five: stereo width, LFO rate from 0.1 to 5 Hz, LFO shape, and the target and glide time of Dive / Rise. Hold the tap switch and the pedal's clock dives or rises, anywhere from half to double speed, with ramps from 50 ms up to five seconds.

Three presets live on each pedal, with 127 more over MIDI, and every knob answers to MIDI CC or the expression jack. Both have stereo inputs and outputs, buffered bypass with selectable trails, and run on Walrus's in-house MDSP platform. Black versions join the green Lore and the grey Fable.
